Carrie Blagburn 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to Carrie Blagburn.  Carrie was 48 years old on 9/11/01.  She lived in Temple Hills, Maryland and worked as civilian budget analyst with the U.S Army in the Pentagon.  She had been married for 23 years and had a son that is in the Army and a 16 year old daughter.
As always, the messages left to Carrie are heartbreaking.  She was a wife, a mother and a friend.  I'm so sorry.  Here are some of her messages left by family and friends on legacy.com:

HI MOMMY I MISS U ALOT. EVERYDAY GETS EASIER I KNOW THIS IS BAD BUT SOMETIMES ITS JUST EASIER NOT TO THINK ABOUT IT BUT HOW CAN I NOT THINK ABOUT THE PERSON WHO HAS INSTILLED EVERYTHING IN ME THAT MADE ME THE PERSON THAT I AM TODAY. I KNOW IF U COULD SEE ME U WOULD BE SO PROUD OF ME I MISS U SO MUCH AND NOW THAT DAD IS GONE IT MAKES IT THAT MUCH HARDER BUT AT LEAST U TOO ARE TOGETHER UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN. DEANNA BLAGBURN, CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Maryland
The Day that god let you know that you were no longer needed on this earth and to be in his presence wasn't the best of days for my mom because not only was it her birthday, she lost a dear friend. You and my Mom Jenshel Marshall were co-workers for a long time before the pentagon. but may god bless your family and let prayers of strength and encouragement continue to come to your family. TaKea Marshall, Capital heights, Maryland
I MISS U GRANDMA. I LOVE U FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART. Levone Blagburn, Ft. Washington, Maryland
To the family of Carrie Blagburn,

I wish to express my deepest sympathy to your family, I have been and longtime working colleague of Carrie, her sister Althea, her mother Ms. Payne and also her sister-in-law Denise, when we were all employed at the Navy Annex in Arlington, VA. This is a hard a trying time, but trust in the lord and every thing will be just fine. Moanick Fenner, Suitland, Maryland
To the family and friends of Carrie, I pray for a healing of your hearts and that you will someday be able to accept and go on. Memories will then become precious and soothing instead of heartwrenching as they are now. I am certain she is with all the angels, singing with the heavenly hosts. God Bless You. Carrie will not be forgotten. Sheila Werland, Illinois
To the family of Carrie Blagburn. I pray strength for each and everyone of you. Today marks the anniversary of that tragic day. There's so much that have happened since that day in each and everyone of your lives. We don't know why our beloved Carrie was taken away from us but we do know that she is up in heaven with that beautiful smile of hers. I'm glad that I had a chance to know Carrie as a friend, pal, confidante, sister and also as my "twin"! Words can't express the sorrow but we all know that God has her in his bosom. God bless each and everyone of you and I pray that our paths will cross again someday! Love,  Georgia Atkins Williams, Washington, District of Columbia

William Weems 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to William Weems.  He was 46 years old on 9/11/01.  William was a freelance producer of TV commercials and was traveling to L.A.  He was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175.  He was married and had a 7 year old daughter.
"His life was really based on what he could do to enhance the lives of others," said friend Cynthia Gardner. "Most importantly his wife and daughter Zoe."

There's a saying that goes something like, "A measure of a man's worth can be taken by those who loved him"...... something to that affect.  Clearly William Weems worth was high as all the messages left for him are full of love from others.  Here are some of the those messages from legacy.com:
Bill, I was always struck by what a wonderful person you were when we worked together in the production business in Boston. You were a producer on one of my shoots and it was a great experience. And I remember the day I saw your name scroll across my TV. It filled me with rage and anger that someone as good as you could be taken in such a way. It still does. But your goodness will always win out over that event. It was an honor to know you. Chuck Koelsch, Providence, Rhode Island
Bill, I think of you every day, but more today--so kind and so thoughtful--and so missed in this world.
Laurie Everett
Thinking of you today, Weemsie... I will never forget you... miss you... Ann McKallagat, Massachusetts
May 02, 2011
I hope, in some way, today's news allows to have a little peace.
Dear Bill, There have been many times that I have thought of you and the work we did in Boston...you were one of a kind... Tony Mariano
Bill, It's been nine years now, and seems like yeaterday. Can't imagine what you would be up to today, but no doubt putting smiles on many faces. Rest in Peace "Joneseee" it was you who were always PLUM. Dan Misko
Dear Lisa and Zoe, I still think of you and your husband and father from my days when I owned Videoscope in Marblehead. I hope time has somehow helped you to heal. Sincerely, Stan Rusnak
Stan Rusnak, Essex, Massachusetts
I did not William but his name jumped off the t.v. screen when I first saw it because it is a rare name and I first thought it was someone in my family. In a way you are as are all the victims but it was your name that connected you to me at first glance. Can it be seven years?? My thought s and prayers are with you and your family on this another 9/11, rest softly. Scott Weems, Reston, Virginia
Bill was a producer for about 10 spots I made and he and I were in constant contact for about four years in the late 90's. I counted him a one of my good friends in the profession and he was a bright light in my life and the lives of many of my friends. Funny, Smart and a hard worker who loved what he did. I think of him often and particularly today. I miss him and I offer my very best, my thoughts and prayers to Lisa, and his kids, family and friends. Todd Root, Hartford
Bill was my movie buddy. We must've seen 100 flicks together. I still glance over at the empty seat next to me sometimes and can't believe my friend is gone. I miss him terribly. Dan Lincoln,

Jane Simpkin 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to Jane Simpkin.  Jane was 36 on 9/11/01.
She was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175.  She worked for the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, but her plan was to become an entertainment lawyer.  The ASCAP has a website for Jane that has many of her friends comments on what she meant to them and how much she will be missed: http://www.ascap.com/playback/2001/IN_MEMORIAM/janesimpkin.aspx

In addition I have borrowed these memories from Jane's mother that she has posted on legacy.com.....  I'm so sorry you lost her.

Shawn M. Nassaney 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to Shawn Nassaney.  Shawn was 25 years old on 9/11/01.  He was a passenger, along with his girlfriend Lynn Goodchild on United Airlines Flight 175.  He was a big Yankee fan.... I suppose I won't hold that against him.  Shawn and Lynn were traveling to Hawaii for a 4 day vacation before they both went for their M.B.A. degrees at Providence College.  Shawn was a Sales Manager for APC, a manufacturing company.  From the foundations website: Shawn was a special member of the APC family and we will sorely miss his enthusiasm, contributions, and constant smile. Upon news of his death, a scholarship fund was immediately created to ensure that Shawn's name lives forever and that he will continue to have a positive influence on many other future leaders.
Currently the Foundation makes gifts to the Shawn M. Nassaney Memorial Scholarship at Bryant University and to a similar fund established at St. Raphael’s Academy in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. From time to time, the Foundation’s Board of Directors will consider other worthwhile activities and programs that reflect Shawn’s character, leadership skills and personal interests.Information on the foundation can be found here: http://www.shawnmnassaney.org/about/foundation/
Shawn has many heartfelt messages left for him.... here are a few of them from legacy.com:
I still think of the good you did for me at APC that day so many years ago. You were and always will be an angel Shawn. We all still miss you terribly. Suzanne Poitras, East Greenwich, Rhode Island
Shawn, I love you buddy and I miss you. I think about you everyday especially today 7/7, your birthday. I'll never forget the last of your birthdays we spent together, my bachelor party in Montreal. I cherish that whole weekend and cant believe just a couple short months later you were taken from us and only one month before my wedding. It's been tough, but it's getting a little easier. You were a great friend and still are to me. I love you man and I'll keep trying to live as you did, to the fullest. Happy Birthday. Jason Silva, Pawtucket, Rhode Island
I don't know what to say it has been years since we went to school together at Saint Teresa's . I remember you as such a kind friendly funny person . The one who never picked on anyone ... The one who liked to make people laugh . When I watched the news and saw your name listed I felt such a sadness like I still knew you . Like it was yesterday we were in 5th grade together ... I cried ....For you for your family and all other families that lost so much that awful day . I am glad to have known you . You will always be remembered by all who ever met you such a good soul such a kindhearted soul. Sue, Pawtucket, Rhode Island
I got to know Shawn during his time in Australia and we spent countless hours working together in a small team of 4 people in APC Sydney. During this time i went to the Sydney 2000 Olympics with him and the opening ceremonies of the Paraolympics which were great nights indeed. I miss Shawn 's humour and great love for the Yankees and all American sports. I will always think of you mate, you were a legend indeed, thanks for the memories. Jason Finlayson, Sydney, Australia
Even though I only knew you for the four years of High School at Saints, you impacted my life incredibly. When you were a stranger to me freshman year, but you came up and asked me to dance, it was just a glimmer into the wonderful person i would become friends with from that second on. You will be in my heart forever Shawn.

Jen M., Warwick, Rhode Island
To the Nassaney family and the Goodchild family...The memories of your loved ones last forever. "When someone we love leaves us, their memories become a treasure." I will always remember Shawn...the gangly teenager who loved running but gave baseball "a go at it". When my husband asked me to coach the Babe Ruth Baseball team with him...I laughed..."A female coach? The boys would never hear of it!" But I did...and boy did we all have fun!! Shawn made sure everyone signed baseballs for both of us. Fortunately, his signature on one survived the "baseball collection"...I will never forget the look on Shawn's parents faces when I handed them that ball on Sept. 14th, 2001 at his memorial. Nor will I ever forget Shawn's beautiful, beaming smile. Keep smiling and keep the pace! Until we meet again! Sincerely, The Emery's "Coach Roger" and "Coach Roberta" Roberta Emery, Pawtucket, Rhode Island
To the Nassaney family, today I work with a heavy heart, I can't believe it has been a year since this tragedy. I will always cherish of memories I have of Shawn and during this difficult time I want to let you know, that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Brian Martin, Hanson, Massachusetts
Mom and Dad Nassaney thanks for bringing Shawn into our lives through "SAINTS". While this tragedy has hurt us all something good has come out of this. My husband has been reunited with his son that we haven't seen in 20 years and indirectly it was Shawn that brought them together. Shawn you will always be in our hearts forever.God Bless The Stoddard's  Kevin, Kevin Jr., Leah and Luci
Shawn, You always have put a smile on my face, you were there when people put me down...I always thanked you for that, and I'll always remember you, until we meet again....I'll always think of you and I miss you lots... Anne-Marie Ribiro, Pawtucket, Rhode Island

Maclovio Lopez, Jr. 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to Maclovia Lopez Jr.  He was 41 years old on 9/11/01.  He lived in California and was been in Boston working on a construction pipeline as was his specialty.  He was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175 traveling home to visit his family while out of town for work.  A quote from his wife: "People always saw hard, but really he was soft on the inside," she said. "I think that anybody who really knew him knows what they're going to miss. Anybody else, it wouldn't have mattered to him anyway."
Here are some messages and memories that have been left for him, his family talks to him often.  I'm so sorry you lost him....

Today would have been your Birthday. Enjoy it in Heaven. Love and miss you!

Sometimes I just get so angry when I think about all the time we have missed out on. I dream someday we will be able to have another one of our talks. Well to all those who share my broken heart Thank you for Never forgetting the Man behind the event!!!!! Dannette Lopez, Norwalk, California

Robert George LeBlanc 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to Robert LeBlanc.  He was 70 years old on 9/11/01 and was a geography professor at the University of New Hampshire.  He was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175.  He had five children, Carolyn, Paul and John LeBlanc and Nissa and Kjel Youngren, and two grandsons.  He was said to have "itchy feet" and lived to travel the world.  I read that there weren't many places that he hadn't been.  Incredible, one of the best of us.  Mr. LeBlanc leaves behind family and friends, left too soon.  Here are some of the messages from legacy.com left to him and to his family....
Robert was my professor in the autumn of 1975. He was hip, he was cool, he was real. His style, his delivery, his composure was unique as it was rare on campus. Were he alive, I think that Robert George Leblanc would offer compelling thought on how geography combined with insanity, drove men to madness and murder. RIP Robert. Webb Philips, Hampton, New Hampshire

I graduated from UNH in 1989 with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Geography. I had the pleasure of taking two courses with Dr. LeBlanc; One during my Sophomore year and the other, Geography of Canada during my senior year. Because of his genuine, warm and sincere personality, he was known by his friends and colleagues as simply Bob or Robert despite his tremendous academic accomplishments. I will always remember him as the instructor who had the greatest influence on my college experience. Nothing seemed to please him more than a student who shared his interest and enthusiasm for Geography, especially Canadian Geography. He was also simply a great teacher and lecturer. My class notes seemed to flow effortlessly and you always knew when to just listen and when to pick up your pen and write. My father's family is Franco American and Dr. LeBlanc always took a genuine interest in learning about my family history.
Dr. LeBlanc epitomized so many of the things that make UNH a great school. How many colleges can you go to as a freshman or sophomore and take a class with an instructor
with the experience and credentials that he had? To Dr. LeBlanc's family, may I offer my sincere condolences for your loss and you are in my thoughts and prayers. Jason Mongeon, South Berwick, Maine
I didn't ever meet Robert, but I often walk past the bench placed on the UNH campus in his memory. I pray that he is at peace now in Heaven with the other victims of this terrible tragedy.
Meghan Schrader, Durham, New Hampshire
I graduated from UNH in 1978 with a dual degree, one of which was Geography. Prof. Leblanc was a mentor and personal friend of mine. My heart breaks for his family each time I think of his death. I will always remember driving he and his family to Logan Airport in Boston during Christmas vacation. May God give his family some peace of mind knowing he touched untold lives during his time on earth..... John Wilson, Crockett, Texas
Andrea, My thougts and prayers continue to be with you. Jackie Beaupre, Barrington, New Hampshire
I had Robert Leblanc as a Professor while at UNH. I was only taking Geography as a science elective and I have to say it was one of the toughest electives I took. He was passionate about his classes and really wanted us to know the subject when we left his class. I also got to know him a little outside of the classroom when I worked for the University and found him to be very warm and caring. I know he will be greatly missed by both the University Community as well as friends and family.

Brian Kinney 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to Brian Kinney.  He was 28 on 9/11/01.  He worked for Pricewaterhouse as a Manager.  He was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175 for a business trip to California.  Brian was married and leaves behind his parents and many, many friends.
Growing up he spent his time working at his dad's service station in Lowell, Mass.  He enjoyed the customers whether at the station in overalls or in a business suit at Pricewaterhouse.  Brian has many pages of personal messages on legacy.com..... here are some left for him and for his family - I'm sorry he was killed that awful day, he sounds like a great guy.

Merry Christmas old friend. I miss you so much. Nicole S, Lowell, Massachusetts
To the Kinney Family, You are always in my thoughts, but especially thinking of Brian this week, now that those responsible for that tragic day, have been caught..God Bless. Hope all is well.

Heinrich Kimmig 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying  tribute to Heinrich Kimmig.  He was 43 years old on 9/11/01 and was from Germany.  Heinich was the Chairman of BCT Technology AG.  He was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175.  I couldn't find very much info on him, sorry about that.  Here are some messages left for him on Legacy.com... terrorists hate all of us, being from another country is meaningless to them.....

És ist so unvorstellbar, ma kann es kaum glauben, trotzdem ist es schicksal oder vorherbestimmung! und es heißt bei jedem todesfall wird eine baby geboren, dieses baby ist ein neu anfang für eine bessere welt! Birgit ..., dortmund

So sinnlos ...Mein herzliches Beileid an die  Christiane, Dortmund / Germany

Meine herzliche Anteilnahme der Familie.
MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO YOU ALL.MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL.
HEINRICH MAY YOU REST IN PEACE. BARBARA BOLIN, SHELBY, North Carolina
May the angels keep you safe, and dry your tears. The world mourns with you.

Ralph Francis Kershaw 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to Ralph Kershaw.  He was 52 years old on 9/11/01.  Ralph was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175.  He was a marine surveyor, world traveler, and owner of the Ray Kershaw Company.  Ralph was married to his high school sweetheart and had three children.  He built his house in Manchester-by-the-Sea, a town 30 miles north of Boston, adding onto it as the family grew.
I'm so sorry that you lost him on that terrible day.  Here are some messages to Ralph and his family that I found on legacy.com....
My father was my hero. The man that I went to when I needed to share a story, solve a problem or just to get one of his big bear hugs. He was the kind of man that would do anything for his family and friends, whether it was building skateboard ramps and playhouses or doing survey work on a friends boat for free. He was a man that commanded respect and he was loved beyond words. We will never forget you Dad.
In loving memory, Kristin Kershaw, daughter
heidi and family,
it has been 9 long years and I think of you all the time. I hope the family is doing good considering all you have been through. My prayers and thoughts are with you! bob oliver J&B Auto, gloucester, Massachusetts
Hedi, Kristin, Matt & Jay
I think of you all often, especially this time of year. I can't express how sorry I was to hear about Ralph and I cannot imagine the loss you have encountered. Your family was very much a part of my life growing up, and I never will forget Ralph or any of you - my thoughts are always with you.
On this fifth anniversary my thoughts are with you guys, Heidi, Kristin, Jason, and Matt. It was a day so much like today. Ralph, you are very missed by the boating community and a tremendous loss for Manchester. Bill Crocker, Damariscotta, Maine
I knew Ralph back when I was in High School, I was a friend of his daughter Kristin. I always remember his great bear hugs and him always "protecting" me and Kristin from the twins, Matt and Jason. My deepest sympathy to his family, Heidi, Kristin, Jason, Matt...everyone. He was a great man and a wonderful father. It may have been quite a few years since I've seen him but I will never forget him. Bless you all, my thoughts are with you always. Tina Brooks, Epping, New Hampshire
I'll always remember Ralph when, after completing the sea trial portion of the survey on the motor yacht which was to become our 'One More Time', he sat back in a chair on the deck and said with a huge smile on his face, 'This is what fun is all about!' as we cruised along at full throttle. Some how, I know he's still smiling. Heidi, it was thru being your UPS driver at the Sweater Shop that I met Ralph. I'm so glad I did! Thank You and God Bless! Wally Hills, Danvers, Massachusetts
I think of Ralph almost every time I go out on my boat. As a young paperboy, Ralph was my boating mentor and helped me in more ways than he could have ever imagined. I'm sure I was a bit of a nuisance, but Ralph always found the time to give some advice, or help me get something at a price a 13 year-old could afford. I hope that I will continue to have the opportunity to return the favor to someone in the same spirit and manner that Ralph gave to me. A true life lesson of patience and kindness. Always grinning past the #4 bouy John Elder, Hamilton, Massachusetts
My deepest sympathies to the Kershaw Family.
My name is Tom First. I only met Ralph once. He was a memorable man. Ralph inspected my boat in the late 90's before i purchased her. To say that Ralph was knowledgeable is an understatement. He actually told me what was going to be wrong with the boat as he approached it for the first time (before he stepped on her) -- he knew the weaknesses and flaws of every sailboat. Ralph didn't inspect my boat simply to tell me what was wrong, he did it to tell me how to repair and care for her. I spoke to Ralph several times before and after i purchased the boat and then spent the next 4 years going down Ralph's list, one by one, rebuilding my boat from the bottom up. I saw Ralph's name on TV on September 11th and it brought tears to my eyes. Though i did not know him well, he represented to me a kind, caring man who took great pride in his work and his family. He told me about his father, his wife and his two boys while we spent that day together. I still remember shaking his big hand. I have a wonderful relationship with my father and i imagined him to have the same type of relationship with his children... My prayers are with your family on the anniversary of that tragic day....Tom First, Concord, Massachusetts

He enjoyed traveling with his wife and spoke French fluently.
No matter how many tributes I have done the personal messages to loved ones always get to me.  I'm sorry you all are reduced to saying I miss you, I won't forget you on an internet site.  Such as it is.... here are some messages left to Robert from legacy.com.... this first one is a doozy.....

I worked with Bob for the last 16 years and enjoyed his friendship every day. He was a wonderful, kind, compassionate man who really enjoyed the people he worked with. His ready smile and infectious laughter brought happiness to us all. I miss him and think about him every day. And every day, my thoughts and heart go out to you and your children and the 3 little grandchildren. I had seen many pictures of them over the years and one Friday in August he brought the older 2 in for a quick visit. I was so happy to meet them, and the pride and pleasure in Bob's face was radiant. God bless you and your family. mary ragone, medford, Massachusetts

Herbert Homer 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to Herb Homer.  He was 48 years old on 9/11/01.  He worked for the Department of Defense.  Mr. Homer served as a US official coordinating government work by Raytheon Co. in Burlington. He began his 27-year federal career at the Defense Contract Management Agency's Raytheon office in 1974.  A member of First Congregational Church of Milford, he worked on several church committees and volunteered in the church nursery.  He was active with the Framingham chapter of the Jaycees, serving as a Special Olympics coach, and was a member of the Jaycees International Senate.
Herb was married and also left behind his parents and a brother.  Clearly Herb was a very smart guy as well as an altruistic American.
From legacy.com I found many heartfelt messages to him and his family.... here are some of them:
Herb was our friend, and a great fellow Board member at the National Scoliosis Foundation. He was also our brother Jaycee who lived out the motto that service to humanity is the best work in life. Although eight years has passed, the memory of his spirit, his pleasant demeanor and willingness to lend a hand will never be forgotten. Joe O'Brien, Stoughton, Massachusetts
Herbert Homer, keeping him and his family in my thoughts and prayers, as well as the families of all September 11 victims and warfighters serving overseas. I am also DCMA, in L.A. God Bless
Today I am serving over in Iraq for DCMA under an Air Force deployment. I learned of Mr. Herbert Homer today and will be dedicating my SPIN class to him that I teach at the MWR at FOB QWest. God Bless. Captain Karin Werner, USAF, Syracuse, Utah
Herbert W. Homer is a Hero never to be forgotten. I am a DCMA employee who first heard of Herbert after 9/11 and will never forget him. Although many years have past, he will always remain a Hero.
Carol Cuellar, San Antonio, Texas
Never have I experienced something when I heard about the attack on our country three years ago. I knew Herb personally. I was a member of the same church. Me being the organist of my church, I had to play for his memorial service. He was always really supportive of my future plans in music. It was something more emotional than I could ever imagine. There were people from the military there, some saying some words of remembrance. I had never seen so many people in my church before that day. It was very uplifting. Ever since that day, I think about how proud I am to be an American, and I know in the end we will prevail. God Bless you Herb, we all miss you. Kyle, Milford, Massachusetts
I first met Herb upon arriving at DPRO Raytheon in May of 1984. His warm smile and sense of humor put all at ease. I had occasion to see the reports he generated in his employ for the United States Government. They were detailed, well written, and always voluminous. The one occasion I will always remember was a crazy time when the workload appeared mountainous. Herb called me into his office to tell me he needed me to work on a little contract for about two hours a week. Upon leaving his office I learned the particular contract was one of the largest in the office, and the workload was much more intensive than Herb had informed me. After letting the steam vent from my head, I knew there was no one else to give the work to, and Herb was always there to assist me if it became too much. Herb was always a presence at the Christmas work party, and an inspiration at the CFC Golf Tournament. I will miss, and never forget Herb. Arthur Mason, Hudson, New Hampshire

I think of Jim often and miss him terribly. He was kind, considerate, caring, dedicated, and easy to talk to. He always listened and had quite words of advice. There are so many funny things I remember – every time I slice a strawberry I can hear him say “what are you doing” he brought fresh strawberries to a meeting once for everyone to share I sliced mine before eating them – it may have seemed a bit strange to some. Every time I look at a new building – you see I’m a facilities manager and Jim and I spent a lot of time with the broker looking for new space! Every time I’m on a ladder, I’m not sure what he was thinking when he ran down the hallway when he saw me on a ladder yelling at me “to be careful”! I have great memories of Jim, I’m lucky to have known him. Gail, Elizabeth, John – my heart goes out to all of you. Donna Burke
Gail, Elizabeth, John,
Not a day, or really, an hour, goes by where I don't think of each of you. I am praying for you and praying for each of us here in America. I am a security analyst who covers Netegrity, and I had no better friend in business than Jim. Whenever I had a financial question, I would call Jim. He always knew the answer and would take time to carefully explain it to me.
As I matured as an analyst, so did my appreciation for Jim. He was never too busy to talk, never too full of himself to not listen, and never, ever condescending. When I think of a guiding hand on the rudder of a ship in very stormy seas, I think of Jim. When I need an example of kindness, I think of Jim. Whenever I arrive at the precipice of thinking of people as something other than vulnerable human beings, I think: Jim. He never lost perspective, why should I? It is hard for me to put into words the gratitude I felt for having known him. Jim was more than a friend to me, he was a living example of what is meant to never lose touch with what's important in life.  I miss him. And I think of each of you a lot. I will never, ever forget Jim Hayden as long as I live. Thank you for sharing him with me. Katherine Egbert, San Francisco, CA

Eric Hartono 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to Eric Hartono.  He was 20 years old on 9/11/01.  Eric was sent to the US from Indonesia to attend school.  He attended high school in Portland, OR. After graduating from high school, Eric Hartono moved to Boston, where he attended Newbury College, and then to Los Angeles, where at 20 he was hoping to attend the University of Southern California. Eric was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175.
Eric was so young and just starting life... he had great potential and was loved.  I have took this messages to and and about Eric from legacy.com:

Eric, Brought out a picture of you at the breakfast table and introduced you to my kids I told them that you had been a dear friend and that if you were still here you would visit often and that they would love you too. Forever, Alex H, Sacramento, California
You are not, nor will you ever be forgotten, fellow American. John Ross, Purcell, Oklahoma
Dear Eric, I feel lucky, privelledge to call you a friend. I have learned love, humility and patience through yr life. Almost 7 years had past, but I am still grieving about loosing you. Wished we had more time, may be if you are still here, I would know how to get out of the mess I am in. Missing yr advice and listening ears. Timothy, Portland, Oregon
To the Hartono family,I hope you have found comfort and peace.Iam very sorry for your tragedy.Eric seemed like such a nice young man.God bless all of you.Your in my prayers Dawn Sproules,
Mr. and Mrs. Hartono,
I went to school with your son when he first came to the United States. I just want to say that he was a real funny guy and a great friend to have. I will cherish the moments that i had spent with him. One memory that sticks out in my mind is one time at gen.church. We were both sittin in the same row and and we were singing a slow worship song and i had my eyes closed just listening to the song and i opened my eyes and saw Eric he was just singing so passionately with his hands lifted up and i told myself i need to be like him and give my all. Another memory that is a little funny is that when he came his first year to our school, he would always have gum in his mouth. And it was not aloud and he would get warning after warning and after he was told to spit the gum out he would put another piece of extra in. Another time when we were at gym class it was Eric's turn up to bat. So we were all standing there and he went to swing the bat and it went flying out of his hands. It was so funny that everytime he went up to bat after that we all would say get behind the fence everybody! I also had some great talks with him and had fun playin basketball with him, ridin in his car when he offered to give me rides, sittin infront of him in algebra class and him always askin me what i got for that answer. He had the biggest smile and he was laghing i couldn't help myself from laughing also. I will always remember Him. Thank You for sending him to the U.S.A. israel smith, clackamas, Oregon
Pak Samadikun and family,
I am sorry about Eric, he was a loving person, and I believe that God loved him so much : God had given him a God-fearing family and he grew up loving and serving God. Vinska Liu - Jakarta, Indonesia
Eric was a student with my children at Temple Christian here in Portland through the high school years. They remember him as a happy positive person who brought fun and good memories into the lives of many here. Our condolences to the parents of Eric and his family. May God give you his comfort and peace at this time. George and Susie Elliot, Portland, Oregon
I am a student at Newbury College and I was a friend of Eric's. Eric was an International Student from Indonesia, he was transferring colleges and on his way to LA. I knew Eric as a classmate and through his stops to the International Student Services Office when he needed his paper signed or just had some questions for the Director. Our campus mourns the death of one our own classmates, students, and friends. Eric had a class with me last semester and I will always remember his smart remarks for our professor and his red Michael Schumacher hat that he always wore to clss. I hope that his family will be able to find comfort and know that the Newbury community is here for them. Eric was going to be missed when he transferred to LA but he will be miss more so now because he was one of us. Our Hearts go out to Eric's family, friends, and the Indonesian community.

Gerald Hardacre 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to Gerald Hardacre.  Gerry was 62 years old on 9/11/01.  He was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175.  He was a retired Environmental Engineer and a resident of Carlsbad California.  Gerry helped to make San Diego a cleaner, better place to live, according to his brother Larry.  A quote from his family:   Gerry was a wonderful man who loved his family very much and had a heart of gold. He would have done anything for anyone and we know that he did whatever he could on this flight to help everyone on this plane and avoid what these monsters did.
I have found these messages on legacy.com left to and for Gerry and his family.... he was so loved.  I'm sorry you lost him.
This first message is my favorite: From: Alex Galicia to Gerry...I am a United airport supervisor who was meeting with 9/11 families at LAX as they transited to and from the disaster sites during the week following 9/11. Your sister handed me your memory card as I sat with her and her husband at the United First Class lounge at LAX. I had mentioned that I was an Army National Guard Officer. She suggested I take your card with me if I were deployed.
Your card wound up in my front breast pocket during Operational Noble Eagle (Airport Security) and then throughout Operation Iraqi Freedom (during my 465 day tour in Kuwait and Iraq).
I still have your memory card. I carry it in my ID card holder. I never knew you but somehow I feel a connection to you because you represent the other countless people whom I never knew but who lost their lives on that fateful day. Your memory enabled me to draw strength during my long days and nights in the Iraqi desert. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, May you rest in peace!
My name is Larry Fickenworth..I was a supervisor in the Paint and Processing Dept.002 at Convair..Gerry saved my bacon on more than one occasion..As everyone was,i was upset by his loss..I remember his kindness and willingness to help in all matters..I will miss him...Been almost 10 years now..Hes still in my prayers and thoughts.Thank you my friend..Larry...larryfickenworth@yahoo.com And FB. Larry Fickenworth, Lakeside, California
I worked with Gerry at General Dynamics, Convair but really got to know him after the shut down through Joy Stockton-Hagin and the "ex-Cons" engineering group. He was very caring and funny, and accepted me into the group as a long lost friend. I think of him often and I know he is greatly missed by all. My thoughts are with his family, I pray for peace for them. Rick Radomski, Temecula, California
Dear Judy and Kristen,
As I place American Flags on my lawn today, remembering those that lost their lives on 9/11, I especially think of Gerry. My husband, Dave Rudderow, was a friend of Gerry's. They were "Poker buddies" for many years, along with Chuck Ollinger and Joe Corso. I lost Dave to cancer 3 years ago. He and I made it our priority every anniversary to light a candle for Gerry. Now I will continue that tradition. God bless you and your family. Becki Rudderow, Vista, California
With loving prayers and remembrance on this day...Gerry, I remember you fondly when you would come down to visit Kristen at State and take us all out to dinner. Kristen, my thoughts are with you today. Poppi Rodriguez Webb, Kansas City, Missouri
On this 6th anniversary we do our best to remember the good times. Thinking of the day we went to the San Diego Zoo while Kristen had to go to school and Judy to work - what a blast - I still remember Kristen's expression when we she left for school. My favorite memory was at our wedding and Uncle Gerry had the pre-wedding dinner party at his room. When we walked in he had the blender going and he was pouring margaritas. Judy, Kristen, Colleen and Larry you are in our prayers and we share in your grief. We love you and you are not alone. Laura & Mas Chastain, Yosemite, California
As I approach the second year, I worked for Gerry Hardacre at General Dynamics in San Diego. Gerry was a great boss and even a better man. I am grateful for the 5 years I worked for Gerry, he was a very funny man, dedicated, and cared for his employee’s who worked for him. I was heart broken when I heard he was on Flight #175. I will always remember what a fine American Gerry was, and for all those on September 11, 2001. May god bless Gerry's family and my GOD bless the USA.

Father Francis E. Grogan

I have the honor of paying tribute to Father Francis Grogan.  He was 76 years old on 9/11/01.  Father Grogan was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175.
He served as a sonar expert on a Navy destroyer during World War II, and was most recently the head of the Holy Cross Residence in North Dartmouth, Mass.  He also had taught high school and served at churches in New York, Connecticut, Vermont, Texas, and Massachusetts - as chaplain and teacher at Holy Cross High School in Waterbury, Conn.; assistant pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in Bennington, Vt.; assistant pastor of San Jose Parish in Austin, Texas, and assistant pastor of Holy Cross Church in Easton.  Truly a remarkable man, I hope he was able to give his fellow passengers some measure of peace on that doomed flight.  Below are some messages left for Father Grogan.... The Lord be with you Father....
Fond and happy remembrances of Francis, as his May 13 birthday approaches. May God bless him and all of you here.
Here, on the ninth anniversary of 9/11 and the horrible events of that day that ended your life here on earth, we think of you and the shining example of your life that shone and showed real and eternal truth to all who knew you. You are in our prayers always. Bill Dalton, Your Cousin
Thinking of you today, Fr. Grogan. We miss you..
The Mahoney Family - Annmarie Mahoney, West Kingston, Rhode Island
In forty years of teaching I have continually cited your many words of wisdom imparted to us at Stonehill. Requiescas in pace! Bill Falls, Crowley, Louisiana
Fr.Frank, how I loved your Masses at Holy Cross High School every weekend. Haven't seen you since graduating from WCHS in 1975....but the lessons you taught me have stayed with me. I have told my children all about your kindness and generous spirit, and try to live my life by your example. Thank you for your lessons, rest in peace my friend. I celebrate your life every day,and know you helped many souls see the face of God Sept.11,2001. Beth (DiGiovanni)Niedmann, Harwinton, Connecticut
You were a dear friend Father Grogan. Every day I think about the times we had at St. Stanislaus Parish. Not a day goes by that I don't remember you or the day that claimed your vibrant life. I'll never forget where I was on that awful day or when the pulled me from class to tell me of your death. God Bless you Fr. Grogan. Pray for me as I pray for you every waking moment. Jordan Feijo, Swansea, Massachusetts
Father Grogan lovingly baptized our youngest child, Alexander (now 22) in 1987. Thank you, Father Grogan. I'll always remember your kindness. Jeannine Bakriges, Whitingham, Vermont
remember a Sunday afternoon in April 1996 when my father picked you up at the rectory in easton and brought you to our home where you administered last rights and prayed with us over my grandfather as he took his final turn for the worse. I remember your gentle voice and the calm as we gathered around my beloved grandfather, laying on hands. I remember the comfort your presence brought to our family and my grandmother in particular. I will never forget  John T, Virginia
You are always in my thoughts and prayers. I have a beautiful picture of you baptising my daughter. I will always cherish that picture and your memory. Michelle Reimer, New Jersey
As I sat in front of my computer, I read the pages of love and memories of Fr. Grogan. It is so wonderful to have known this kind and gentle man whom is mourned the world over. I often ask why, and I know I will never understand while my feet still touch this earth, but maybe he will be able to explain it to me, once we meet again in a better place. We will continue to pray for you and hope that you will watch over us.

Michele Goodhue, Flanders, New Jersey

Douglas Gowell 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to Douglas Gowell.  He was 52 years old on 9/11/11.  Douglas was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175. Douglas was from Methuen, MA, and was a much loved husband and father.  He worked at Avid Technologies in Tewksbury, MA as Director of New Market Development.  He loved music and all things tech.
On legacy.com I found many loving messages left to him and his family.  I'm so sorry.

It's hard to believe that seven years have passed, especially when the pain still hurts so badly. I think of you often and try to emulate your kindness and calmness. You are missed.  I never forget. Not for one day do I ever forget.  God bless you, Doug. God bless America. David Saggio, Hopedale, Massachusetts
Just want you to know you will never be forgotten.

We all miss you. Ralph Lloyd, Hudson, New Hampshire
I did not know Doug. However I worked at Avid from 1991 to 1998 and took that same flight to LA many times. Was there during the riots in 1992. I suppose it could have been me, were I to have stayed on. Although, I do not want to pretend to exclaim that I have any portion of a measure of what his family has gone through. The loss is beyond what I can convey in words. If by chance, in some sort of way, that his family can take a grain of solace in knowing he passed in our greatest tragedy on American soil for our generation, then so be it. I have no way of comparison to their grief, and I consider him a hero.
AJ Steffenberg, York, Maine
To Barbara and the family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. Doug was a classmate of mine from Leom. High School of 1966. He will missed. We are doing a memorial wall on Nov. 25th at our 40th Class Reunion, and his photo will be displayed there also. He will be with us in thoughts and prayers. God Bless you and your family.  Shirley (Williams) Reynolds, Leominster
Barbara...my thoughts are with you probably on a daily basis I wonder how you are doing...I truly hope you and your kids are well. John Pattee, Rochester, New Hampshire
You were really an interesting person. May God bless you as we live through the fifth anniversary of your death. James Cho, Cypress, California
Dear Barbara, Michael and Jessica,

We are coming upon the 5th anniversary of this national tragedy and we are as sad today as we were when it happened.  In my mind's eye, I still see Doug passing by early that morning in the limo headed to airport - I remember seeing him the night before as he was checking the work he was doing in the front of your home.
None of you are forgotten in our hearts nor in our prayers! Lucie & Tony Consentino - Lantern Lane
To the family of Doug, I am deeply sorry for this loss. He was a great man. He was one of the finest people I had met during my tenure at Adobe Systems. Doug constantly spoke of his family. He especially liked to talk about his children. He was the most respectable human being I had met in a very long time. I remember when he stated that he wanted to take the family to the Red Sox game. I gave him my corporate tickets and told him to have a great time. He always stated how he loved to play with gadgets and bought one of the first PDA's. He showed it to me proudly. Doug also helped me in trying to find a job when I became unemployed. God took a great man. I am sure that he is watching over all of you and protecting you from where he is. My prayers are with you. Fran Barbaro Altieri, Belmont, Massachusetts
Barbara, Jess & Mike; Words cannot possibly express our feelings at this time. But please be assured that our thoughts and prayers remain with you always. Bob, Anne & Heidi ~ Bob Fearing, Methuen, Massachusetts

Ronald Gamboa 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to Ronald Gamboa.  He was 33 years old on 9/11/01.  He was a Manager at The Gap.  Ronald was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175 along with his partner Daniel Brandhorst who's tribute I wrote below.  Also on board the flight was Ronald's 3 year old son David.  Heartbreaking, the loss of a whole family.  Here are messages that are on legacy.com from friends and family that have been left to Ronald.....

As a coworker of Ron, I can say that he is a great man. Every time he would come in to work he will light up the room. No matter how difficult the times were at work, he would always bring up a smile to my face. I miss him, but I know that he is up in heaven still telling me to make sure I always do my best in everything I do, now matter what it is. I think that Ron would like us to forgive but not forget his legacy, to live our lives to the fullest and be truth to ourselves as he did. I think about Ron all the time, and pray to god that him, Daniel and David are together as they were here and earth. God bless his family... Sergio Pelaez, Los Angeles, California
I think about Ron & Dan and little David all the time. You are missed, but never forgotten.
Ron,the Gap just don't make'em like you anymore.I will miss all the jokes the laughs and most of all everything thing David did the night before or that morning that was so cute!I remember the long drive from San Pedro to Santa Monica
on the 405N.I would leave 1 hour before my shift so I could get to work on time,if you live in Los Angeles you know the 405!I would be so stressed by the time I got to work, and then their was Ron! As happy as can be,the minute I would see him he would make some kind of joke that would just break the ice and would make me forget about the 405.I could honestly say it was worth the drive.I enjoyed being one of his Assistants and knowing such a person with a good heart.
May you all rest in peace! God Bless all of us. Adriana Favila, San Pedro, California

Here is the tribute that was written for Ronald's son David:

Daniel Brandhorst 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to Daniel Brandhorst.  Daniel was 41 years old on 9/11/01.  He was a passenger on United Airlines Flight 175.  On board with Daniel was his partner, Ron Gamboa and their son, 3 year old David.  A family wiped out.  The only silver lining is that the three of them were together.  Still horrible.  Daniel worked for Price Waterhouse in California. Here is the tribute that was written for Daniel's son David: http://hammeringsparksfromtheanvil.blogspot.com/2006/09/in-honor-of-david-reed-gamboa.htmlHere are some messages that I have read on legacy.com..... Daniel was loved and is missed.... 10 years now and it still is raw for his loved ones.......
I Miss You!! Justice has been served but it doesn't make it any easier. Denise Kelly, Kirkville, New York
Miss you little brother! Dawn
David and Family,
Have thought of all of you so many times since last June. Just wanted you to know that we are taking good care of the house you all grew up in. Kristin Hall, liverpool, New York
Late again ... I'm sure you guys are looking down on me now saying "Typical John, he'll probably be late to his own funeral" ... but you were on my mind all day yesterday ... we went to the Bowl last night ... it was Mahler's 7th ... I'm such a sap ... during the National Anthem I thought of you guys and started crying ... we had a Mass said for you at St Victor's ... I never met the guy you wanted to introduce me to at that Pop's group, but I did meet a wonderful man ... Bryan ... and we are getting married on the 29th ... I will be thinking of you guys that day, and the inspiration you were and still are to me today ... God Bless you all, grant you eternal rest and may perpetual light shine upon you ...

Michael Tarrou 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to Michael Tarrou.  Michael was 38 years old on 9/11/01.  He was a Flight Attendant on United Airlines Flight 175.  Michael's girlfriend, Amy King was also working on Flight 175, Amy's tributes can be found here: http://vitaminsea.typepad.com/vitaminsea/2006/09/remembering_amy.html
Michael loved to fly but his first love was making music.  He had a daughter, parents, a brother, sisters and many friends.  From his brother in law:  "There is no doubt that both Mac and Amy would have done absolutely everything in their power to calm and protect the passengers and crew, and would have given their lives to prevent such a disaster," Tom Lumia, Tarrou's brother-in-law, said. "They both were two of the most compassionate, peaceful, giving and understanding people on the earth, and they will be greatly missed. We will love them forever."

Here are some of the many messages to Michael left by people that love and miss him.  As I have said many times in these tributes, the messages left to the people - I miss you, happy birthday, remember this..... painful and touching.  These people are MISSED.  Fro Legacy.com:
I miss flying with you, Mac, and how you always made me laugh...and you made me think about what's important in life -- family and love. You were oozing with pride whenever you talked about your family!! I remember looking back into the 757 galley and seeing you practice your golf swing...my trips with you were the highlight of my career!! Your flying partner, Val

It took me almost 9 years to see this guest book. I still can't believe its been almost 9 years since you were taken from my mom and I. I think about you every day of my life and I only wish I got to experience it with you by my side. The memories I have of you are few and fantastic. Well, I wouldn't say few but it gets hard to remember sometimes.. I read every single entry in this guest book. Every single one. I love that people are still signing to this day.. and I hope they never stop. You are in all of my thoughts, my jokes, my poems (haha they always suck lol). Mom tells me everyday how much I am like you lol. I'm a slob, I can sing like you, I laugh like you, I joke around like you, and I even piss her off like you! :) Sometimes I think you're telling me exactly which buttons to push lol. She's the best. I know you loved her so much. She tells me all of the time.
I'm so glad I got to talk to you on sept. 10th. Seems like you called everybody in the fam that night. Interesting, huh? Intuition much? I remember our conversation well, and I'll never forget it.  I love you so much. I hope I see you soon enough.. come visit any time. :)  You're in my heart always and I hope I am remembered one day as you are. With such empowering love and rejoice. You were obviously fantastic and I remember you the same. I love you, forever and always, your daughter,Gina. Tarpon Springs, Florida

Capt. Victor Saracini 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to Capt. Victor Saracini,  Captain Saracini was 51 years old on 9/11/01.  Capt Saracini was flying United Airlines Flight 175.  Capt Saracini was a former Navy pilot, had been flying commercial jets since 1985.  He worked for United for about 16 years.
Victor Saracini possessed a life-long love of learning, his wife Ellen said. He served in the Navy, where he trained as a pilot; he earned a bachelor's degree in general studies from New Mexico Tech in 1976; and he took engineering, science and music classes while at Louisiana Tech.
Victor left behind two daughters and his wife Ellen.  Ellen has become an advocate of airline safety and spoke to the Subcommittee on Aviation regarding the safety of the flight crew and passengers: http://www.secure-skies.org/Saracini.php
The following messages have been left on legacy.com to Victor and his family..... people sharing their memories of him.  He is missed and loved and I am so sorry you lost him.  We lost the best of the best that terrible day.

Tim Snider, AOCS 21-75 Lawton, Oklahoma
Your airline pilot brothers and sisters will not forget you Victor!  Captain Andrew McKinley, Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin
Ellen and the girls, I remember how proud Victor was when he brought you to my office in New York, I remember how proud he was of the first born and then the second. It is appropriate that I write this to let you know he is on my mind daily and especially today. As you know I taught Victor how to fly in the early part of his quest for his commercial, instrument, and multi engine ratings. I will always remember the good times he and I had. I hope that your grief is more tolerable and that life gives you and the girls everything Victor wanted to give you. He truly was crazy about you. Fred Catchpole

Alfred G. Marchand 9/11/01

I have the honor or paying tribute to Alfred Marchand.  He was 44 years old on 9/11.  Alfred was a flight attendant with United Airlines. He became a police officer in New Mexico. He spent 21 years in law enforcement.  After retiring he became a flight attendant with United.  Left behind were his mother, his wife, Rebecca, his son Josh, 20, and two stepsons, Dakota Hale, 16, and Tray Hale, 12.
Alfred was a Marchand was a highly decorated officer. Among his commendations were:
* Officer of the Year, 1982
* Combat Cross
* Three Exceptional Duty Awards
* Five Honorable Service Awards
* Five Grand Cordon Citations
* Director's Commendation
On July 1, 1990, Marchand became the first agent assigned to the newly formed Otero County Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU).
Staff Writer Michael Shinabery's reporting beats crossed paths numerous times with Marchand. In 1996, he covered Marchand's bid for an Otero County Commission seat. Shinabery said at one candidate forum, while several candidates were virulently arguing over issues of self-proclaimed importance, Marchand's sense of humor poked through the political stuffiness.
He last talked to Marchand shortly before Marchand's retirement.
"Al had a dream," Shinabery said. "He told me when he took off his badge for the last time he was going to follow his dream and become a flight attendant. He also told me he had found spiritual peace and contentment in his life."
On a whim, he signed up, said friend Connie Lane. "He just decided to do something really different. It really surprised us."As it turned out, he loved it.
He and his wife of four years, Rebecca, had met for the weekend in Boston. She was scheduled to fly back to New Mexico when her husband flew off to work, but the pair almost changed plans to spend a few more hours together in the air. She considered switching to fly on his plane.
In the end, she worried that she might not be able to rearrange her flights to get home and kept her original plan.
Here are some messages on legacy.com that have been left for Alfred and his family.....
Al hard to believe its been 8 years! You are missed everyday and not a day goes by that we dont remember you. You were such a great man who seemed to always know the right thing to say and do. I wish you were with us now but I know that you live on in our hearts forever. We miss you!
Erica, New Mexico
Well Al.. its comin around again. We will get thru it like we have the past 7 yrs. but just know each year that it goes by, it NEVER gets easier! You would think i would miss u less and less as time goes by, but it is exactly the opposite. I miss you more and more! I still cant believe you're gone... U have been such a HUGE influince in my life. I remember when we went to Canada and u were driving me to the mall. I wanted to take a picture and accidentally opened the back of the camera. All the pictures that you took of family and friends in North Dakota were gone!! but u didnt get mad, u just looked at me and even tho i know u wanted to yell, u jus shrugged it off n said u would go get some new film. U always had that comfort feeling about u that always made me feel safe! i know u are still with me now and i hope i make u proud. Although i wish i could see u as i walk down the isle, or have you hold my children when they are born, i know u will be rite there with me thru it all. I honestly believe you are my guardian angel, and will get me thru life, as you would if u were still here with us. I love you so much and miss u incredibly!!!! See u soon! Love ur tunia.. <3 Melinda Casares, Alamogordo, New Mexico
Boy, yesterday (9/11/07) was so hard. I don't think there is a day that goes by that I don't think of Al. I will never forget Sep. 11, 2001. I am scarred by it's affects....even now, six years later.
I worked closely with Al several years ago, while I was Sales Mgr. at the Cellular One office in Alamogordo. Although I only knew him in a professional capacity, I thought a lot of him. Al was always professional, gracious and kind.
I remember hearing his name on the television news, on that day and my heart literally broke into a million pieces. All I could think about was his family. I still hurt for you all.
I wear a silver bracelet with Al's name and flight number engraved on it, in his memory. It serves as a reminder of just how precious life really is. I will never, ever forget. My life was changed forever on that day. I owe a huge debt of gratitude that can't ever be repaid.
Be Blessed....You are truly loved. Andrea Miles, Rio Rancho, New Mexico
I thought of you often these past couple of days and each time I'm reminded of 9/11. I lived next door to you on Ridgecrest. I'll never forget you driving down the street in your little pick up truck and your cute son Josh. You are missed. Mary Swayzee (Avila), Alamogordo, New Mexico
