Jeffrey A. Hersch 9/11/01

I have the honor of giving tribute to Jeffrey A. Hersch. Jeffrey Hersch worked as an accountant at Cantor Fitzgerald, on the 101st floor of 1 World Trade Center. Jeffrey was a father and a husband. Below are some quotes that I was able to find about this fellow American:

Jeff was a gentleman among gentlemen and a mensch. He had a wonderful sense of humor that we loved.

In a few weeks your grandson will be born and will be named after you,Terrorists’ attacks can’t erase the tradition of Jews.We have no grave or marker for your resting place,And what we have left is remembering your smiling face.Rest in peace, dear Jeffrey, and know that an entire nation mourns you, And in tribute we continue to honor the red, white, and blue.

I worked with Jeff circa somewhere in the 1980's at JP Morgan when he was responsible for the Fixed Asset Accounting systems. He was always one of the easiest people to get along with. We had many laughs together.

In 2006 I paid tribute to Matt Grzymalski. You can find that tribute here:

Thanks for your kind words. This day doesn't get any easier from year to year. It took a long time to do this and I only got the names on Tuesday night. Well worth the effort. They deserve it.

So many horrific sad tales of those lost working for Cantor Fitzgerald.

Thank you for remembering Jeff.
