John Talignani 9/11/01

I have the honor of paying tribute to John Talignani. John was killed on Flight 93 on September 11th, he was 74 years old. He was a cook, a pizzeria owner, and later a bartender at Manhattan's Palm Too Restaurant, where he worked for 20 years. John had three stepsons, and was preceded in death by his wife Selma. A retired bartender who schmoozed with the likes of Donald Trump and Dick Clark during his 20 years at a tony Manhattan steakhouse, Talignani just couldn't resist the pitches on QVC.
Some of the messages left for John and his family:

I never met Mr. Talignani but I did work with his wife Selma years ago. She was a wonderful woman. I know he must have been wonderful too. Its 2-14-03 and to this day, you and your family are on my mind. I'm so sad, there was so much loss in the family, in such tragic ways.
This family will forever be in my prayers. I think of Glen often and pray that God bless him with strength and love. Carmen Lorenzo

Who says there are no more heros. John Talignani is an American hero and his family knows this better than anyone. His legacy will remain with me forever. Thank you Mr. Talignani.

Dear John,
You are in my daily prayers, as is my son, Stephen, your stepson, who was lost in Tower 1 of the WTC on Sept. 11th. It was a double tragedy that day for me, as we were still friends up until the end. I pray that God keeps you in his care.I know that you are in a better place, with your wife, parents and brother - and Steve.

God Bless you and your family and may the memories you have help you through this most tragic time.
God Bless you
